My Favorite Guacamole

Cinco de Mayo has come and gone, and I must admit that I’m a little sad about it. Let’s be honest, though - I’ll take any chance I get to eat tacos and drink margs. Whether you’re still celebrating Cinco de Mayo, or just really love Mexican food like I do, no taco night is complete without good guacamole. There are a million ways to make and use great guac, so have fun customizing this recipe! Here’s the way we make guacamole at home.

INGREDIENTS: (Serves 2-3)

  • 3 avocados

  • 1/2 lime (juiced)

  • 2 Tbs. white onion (finely diced)

  • 2 Tbs. cilantro

  • 1 tsp. jalepeno (finely chopped)

  • 1 clove garlic minced (optional)

  • salt

  • cracked black pepper

  • cumin

  • paprika

Prep, wash, and chop all ingredients. Cut avocados open, remove pits, and spoon avocado out into a bowl. Juice 1/2 of a lime over the avocado immediately and mash the avocados and lime mixture until the texture is smooth. Add the rest of the ingredients into the bowl and stir well. Taste the guacamole and adjust accordingly to your liking. Some people like more salt or lime or whatever - you do you!

To make a bigger batch, just add more avocados and lime, and increase the amount of the other ingredients a little at a time, taste testing along the way to get it just right! When in doubt, add more salt!
